proof that time is elastic

Thirteen years ago this evening, Son came into the world. It doesn’t seem five minutes ago that he was a toddler. (He was a year old, here.)

Now, he’s taller than I am, has a deep voice and could probably pass for sixteen (not to mention the fact that his blond curls are now a dark crop, and his once very blue eyes are now a stunning greeny-grey)… but today he becomes a teenager.
He’s good company, he’s bright and a bit quirky, and he’s brought us a lot of joy in those thirteen years.

Happy teenage birthday to son.

Happy Birthday to your handsome son. Strikes fear in my heart at they very thought of it, I have a nine year old and a five year old - just hope they still love me as much at age 13 as they do now. As for girls - Kate let's just not go there!

Happy birthday, teenage son!

Yes, time is Very Weird Indeed.

Susan - thanks, and they will. Trust me :) As for girls... my 9yo is going on 19 anyway!

Jan - thanks.

Funny how it vanishes when you're not looking for it, and then drags when you're waiting. (And as for deadlines... now they're plain scary. They move at light speed!)

Happy Birthday to your son! It's so cute that he shares his birthday with my youngest dd. Time seems to have shot past far too quickly.

Happy birthday to your son, Kate! Hope you’ll spend a wonderful day together. So true… teenage years fly away with a lightning speed.
It seems yesterday I was 19 and now already 25!
But for my mother I’m always the same, never changed since I was just one. :)
I trust her. So glad to know that Byron is home safely with you.
Take care,
M x

Shirley - thanks. I have a lot of cute pics from his baby days (and from Chloe's - I'm currently putting together her 'now you are 10' album, which is enormous fun - and she was even cuter in her glasses!)

We had a wonderful time, thanks.
