birds upon the wires

Current work: Modern Heat
Listening to: Dire Straits
Reading: Michelle Styles, The Viking’s Captive Princess (late night last night because I couldn’t put it down – I had to know how what would happen next. Flowed beautifully, and the hero and heroine were perfectly matched. Really enjoyed the Viken court scenes, and it was nice to see some familiar characters play a part. The baddies in here are utter stinkers (and the Viken queen is incredibly complex – still haven’t decided if she’s nice at heart or a complete cow). Her author notes at the end are always illuminating, too. Definitely recommended)

On screaming deadline so I’ll leave you with a pic I took on the way home from school earlier this week (obviously NOT yesterday, which was rain, rain and more rain). Care to guess which Dire Straits track I’m listening to? (the clue is in the title AND the picture *g*)

Hi Kate. Agree 10000%. Michelle's book was *gorgeous*. I couldn't put it down either. When my DH was moaning about how late it was I said it's a Viking. He replied, "Michelle Styles?" I said yes, then he turned over muttering under the duvet "I should have known!" Bless him - he knows me so well! Good luck with your deadline. Take care. Caroline x

It was a great mel gibson film too, if somewhat corny...

Caroline - I can just imagine that. Mine moaned, too. Then he looked at the cover. "Oh, it's your mate Michelle's book. Don't wake me up when you FINALLY turn out the light."

Thanks - deadline is a bit of a squeaky one.

Sally - absolutely! Ah, the 90s films, in the days of Big Hair...

Lacey - this reminds me of one of the Pixar shorts, the one with the enormous bird bouncing on the wire. (And no, I wasn't going to climb the pole and act it out *g*)
