Lovely Julie Bonello has really made my day with her review of Good Girl or Gold Digger? over at Cataromance – and I’m utterly thrilled that it merited 5 stars! (The exclamation point there is most definitely deserved…)
This is what she had to say:
I adored Kate Hardy’s latest novel, Good Girl or Gold-Digger! Her heroine, Daisy, was fantastic. She was strong, feisty, resourceful and had a heart of gold, whilst Felix was a charming, sexy and well-defined hero I doubt any romance reader will be able to resist! I also found the fairground background to this story immensely fascinating. Kate Hardy always set her stories against such fascinating backgrounds, but she never lets them overwhelm the story or overshadow the romance.
Refreshing, captivating and feel-good, Good Girl or Gold Digger? is another winner from a fabulous writer whose name alone is sure-fire guarantee of high quality romantic fiction: Kate Hardy!
You can read the full review here. Thank you, Julie, for making my day.

Great review, Kate - and I LURVE the title! x
What a great review - many congratulations. :-)
I second the reviewer, Kate. I just loved this book. Its a branch out for modern heat in that the location is rural rather than urban, and the hero rich but not showily so. I loved it.
Fab, Kate. That Julie knows a thing or two about romance, doesn't she?
Sharon - thank you :)
Nina - thank you, too :)
Sally - lovely to see you here, and thank you for the compliment - so glad you enjoyed it!
Jan - thank you. Julie's lovely :)
I love fairground settings ... the carnivalesque ... it's a space both liberating and unnerving ... a moveable feast ... shifting parameters ... out there on the fringes of 'normal' society, where anything could happen, etc.
Great review too!
Kate, I'm going to rate it 5 stars myself. I just finished it in the wee hours of the morning. Opposites do attract and your characters really "got" each other.
My review will feature also your behind the book and I'm also going to point the link to the asparague recipe.....nice sensual scene! xx
I love the title too! Congrats on another great review :)
Jane - it's the old-fashioned fairs I love, with the steam engines and fairground organs and candy-floss (well, hey, of course I notice the food). As you say, anything can happen!
Marilyn - thank you so much! Delighted that you enjoyed it. Ah, yes, the asparagus. That was pinched from real life, too. And the friends we were having dinner with said they could see the cogs turning as I looked at the hors d'oeuvres and then at DH... (!)
Lacey - thank you! Think it's your way in about two months' time.
