Something to smile about

Current work: should be revisions on the first three chapters (can’t concentrate)
Listening to: Radiohead
Reading: (not concentrating enough to read and don’t want to waste Jane’s book as it’s so good – on hold for the time being)

What started as a nice week is rapidly turning pants. Not going into details (worrying about various family members and some work stuff) but I really could do with something to smile about.

This is what I came up with today. (He knows he’s not allowed on there. Look at the twinkle in the eyes and the waggy tail. That expression says, ‘Awww, but I love you. You’re not really going to make me get off, are you?’)

So tell me something that makes you smile. Let's make the world a nicer place (because, right now, it doesn't feel like one).

Michelle's post at the PHS made me smile. And cry, but in a good way.

Doing my impression of Pahud doing "Peanut Blart and Jelly whop whop" from Paul Blart Mall Cop and listening to my kid crack up. That makes me smile.

In fact, go watch it yourself. Pahud, that is, not my impression. :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ze1B6XCakk

When DH flirts with me.
Like he did yesterday, after coming home from work.
After sooo many years!!
That really makes me smile....

Wish I could do something to make your cobwebs go away - maybe like sending you an Eclair au chocolat??
Low fat, of course...
Hugs

Your problems never seem as bad when you hear/read about some others who have worse problems.

To bring a smile: Think about something your kids did as toddlers. For me it is my 2 year old daughter who filled up the cassette player with her cheerios. Something we found out when we went to play music. :)still brings a smile to my face.

That photo is seriously funny and that's exactly what his expression says, cheeky furchild!

Something funny... I walked into my glass door this morning - darned if I didn't do a great job on cleaning it ;) This is why people should distract me when I'm walking - it's a serious business.

Aaaaah, gorgeous picture. My dog makes me smile too - even on the baddest of days. Other things that are making me smile at the moment are my wedding proof booklet and shiny new marriage certificate.
I hope today is better and the week improves :-)

Here's one that may make you smile - if you've not seen it already: http://suehoughtonuk.blogspot.com/2009/11/chickle.html

He looks great. Very comfortable. And a bit sheepish.

Aw, that is a lovely, lovely pic. You can't help but smile at him, can you?

Animals are always good for bringing a smile.

Hope you have a good weekend.

Donna - that did indeed make me smile. But I still think there should be a YouTube post of your version... ;o)

Brigitte - that's so sweet. (Mind you, mine sent me a text this morning that made me grin. Daughter: "That's from Dad. You've got that look in your eyes."

Thanks for the hugs, too - and the cyber eclair. (I did hit the chocolate yesterday. And a biryani, courtesy of Chloe's friend's mum (a proper one as she's Indian) - she sent me a doggie bag home last night, bless her. The Wii Fit asked me this morning to explain why I put weight on...)

Caroline - thanks, and hope your weather is much calmer today!

MPE - that's very cute. And mm, I can remember my son, just able to walk without falling over, picking up his suncream and toddling over to two teenagers in the park and giving them the suncream. (They thought it was terribly sweet, too.)

Lacey - oh, he's cheeky, all right. It's when he's sitting there as I do the packed lunches in the morning. DH: "You don't seriously think she's going to give you best ham, do you?" Dog: wags tail madly (aka "yup, because she loves me, and I get to share her lunch")

Hope you didn't end up all bruised from your door.

Katie - the pics you've posted on your blog are just lovely. (You looked fabulous, and I might have to pinch some of the food for a book *g*)

Diane - not seen that one and it did make me smile. Also reminded me of the time Dad bought dogfood (we had two Labradors at the time).

Girl on checkout: "Why don't you buy a single case instead of mixed tins? It'd be cheaper."

Dad: "Well, my wife uses them to make pies and I like a bit of variety."

He was a notorious joker, but he kept such a straight face that he really did convince the poor girl...

Shirley - he's the sweetest-tempered dog I've ever had.

Hope you have a lovely weekend, too.

Sorry to hear you've been having a rotten week. Your doggy pic is lovely and reminds me (as always) of my dear departed Sophie (same breed) who used to give me exactly the same look when doing something naughty - i.e., every day, even at 16 years of age! Thinking about my sweet little grandson lying on his baby-gym saying 'Ooooh' to the lights and music, makes me smile if I'm feeling fed up. At his age, he's still too young to be an annoying/awkward male - his mum and I are making the most of it! xx
